My Credit Card with a fake name

I got my first credit card in exchange for 2 free slices of pizza when I was 18. These guys would set up in a corner booth at a local pizza place in the afternoon and if you filled out the application for their Citi card, you got your slices for free! It was an awesome deal at the time. I filled out a few of these will all fake information. But at some point, I got sloppy and gave them my legit social. a week later I had a fancy Credit Card. Granted, when I received it, the name read, and I am 100% honest here, Horse Johnson. That was the name. A real card. One tied to my social, in the name Horse Johnson. I did eventually get my name corrected.

After a few years of less than intelligent financial decisions, I got rid of the card and haven’t had one in 2 or 3 years. It is a great feeling knowing you owe no one. I have been there; collection calls, payment arrangements and feeling like a dumb ass.

I do however, feel like I need a credit card again. With moving and all that it entails, I really just want one for emergencies. So here is my question:

Who has the best deal? Who has the best rewards? Who should be avoided at all costs. After looking through lots of reviews and comparisons online I am leaning toward the Amazon card because of how much I use them to buy everything. Any ideas?

If Americans ever really get hold of football (soccer) and figure it out, they’ll just destroy everyone. Because that’s what you do, isn’t it? You’re the best in everything if you care about it.

New followers from France

What is the deal? About 3 weeks ago I started getting about 5 new followers a day. All of them are relatively new users that are overwhelmingly from France.

Am I listed somewhere as a cool bro to follow?

Tumblr Ettiquette & why people will never be happy

So here is my ongoing, unanswered question. A question that reamins unanswered because everyone you ask thinks differently.

I run the site Merde Tete which only has 100+ followers. It is only photos and probably 70% of them are reblogs from other tumblr users. The theme I use attributes the reblog automatically if you go to the actual site. Right there, under every photo. While my followers on tumblr is relatively small, I have 1000+ rss followers and quite a few monthly hits. A lot of the time I remove the automatic (via blahblahblah) that tumblr adds for no other reason than aesthetics.

So my question is, if the majority of traffic coming to a site happens outside the dashboard, does attribution matter?

Now on this blog, I attribute EVERYTHING i don’t make myself. It is different. It’s my “tumblr”. This is where I interact with the tumblr community.

Inevitably, every few month, I get an email requesting I credit someone with a post. The problem is, these emails are never from the creator of the picture, its always from a tumblr that, somewhere down the line before me, reblogged someone else.

I go back and forth on this subject. What do you think?

IMMORTAL DOG!

Peter Atencio of Funny or Die directed/shot/edited this video, and his friend Heather Anne Campbell wrote and stars in it. It was created for a sketch show in Los Angeles called The Midnight Show, and it’s still the funniest thing I’ve seen all year.

Sites like Facebook, Twitter and others have allowed for the creation of what we call a Digital Super Me. A highly-sharable and incredibly robust digital version of our selves that only drinks the best wine, vacations in the finest locales and has the best and brightest children. We have created these alter egos and now we not only refuse to live without them but we have a new expectation for the contribution that other products and services should make to our lives. So for essentially an investment of zero it delivers the most powerful way to say who you are and share it with the entire world, if you like.

I won a contest!
The Image Source Blog picked me for their W E D N E S D A Y ’ S  W I T H  T A O contest!
This means their highly talented design intern Tao will be producing a one of a kind drawing of me. I get to pick any image and have my likeness drawn in any fashion I want!
There are lots of photos to choose from. Any ideas? Should it be ridiculous or should I take this REALLY serious and have a presidential portrait done?

This is a performance from the magician Ed Alonzo. You may not have heard his name but if you were born in the 80’s you know him as the owner of The Max on Saved by the Bell!

I met Ed at a magic convention (yeah I know) about 8 years ago and he is a great guy with an incredible knack for comedy. He also was rumored to have had a past romantic relationship with Neil Patrick Harris, who along with being awesome at life, is an amateur magician. High five to him!

I think you’re making a conscious decision to lead with a platform rather than a hardware strategy, which is immediately going to make the Verizon product appear to have wider and broader appeal to market. When you think about it, it makes a lot of sense because there’s a lot of money behind Droid as a platform. Whoever is pushing Droid—if Verizon just piggybacks on that, they’re saving hundreds of millions of dollars to drive home a point. It’s a smart bit of thinking and goes after my own personal style: Why spend your own money when someone else is paying for advertising?

With ‘Droid’ branding, Verizon takes platform-dominant position | ZDNet

Regardless of the outcome or effectiveness, this highlights how strategic Verizon is in thinking about how to manage their upstream partners and maintain/increase power.
